Sheffield Wednesday loaned Jordan Rhodes to Championship rivals Norwich City last summer.

Sheffield Wednesday may not have been amongst the protagonists this season, but Steve Bruce’s side have benefited from the Championship promotion race, with The Sun on Sunday (5/5; page 59) reporting that the Owls have bagged a six-figure fee from Norwich securing a place in next year’s Premier League.
The Canaries landed Jordan Rhodes on loan last summer. The striker has had a difficult spell at Hillsborough, scoring just eight goals in 49 league appearances for Wednesday.
He has had a little more success at Carrow Road. The 29-year-old has started just nine times for Daniel Farke’s men in the league, but has found the back of the net six times in 36 games.
Rhodes has not played a starring role for Norwich, who go into the final day of the season in pole position to land the Championship title. But their success as a team is set to be good news for his parent club.

The Sun on Sunday (5/5; page 59) reports that Norwich have paid Wednesday a six-figure fee following their promotion as part of the deal that they agreed in the summer.
It would be a surprise however, if Farke was overly keen to keep Rhodes next term, especially given that they will be stepping up to the top flight. Having said that, he may want to keep as much of the squad together as possible after creating something special at Carrow Road, so perhaps he may be open to discussing what happens next with Sheffield Wednesday.
