Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest are both interested in signing Wato Kuate, but it is Queens Park Rangers who are leading the race, TeamTalk report.
Kuate is a free agent currently, and both Wednesday and Forest are eager to snap him up.
However, QPR are said to be prepared to offer him a trial and have opened discussions with him.
Kuate already has some experience of playing in British football, although he most recently plied his trade in Finland.
The midfielder was part of Dundee United’s team for a season, and also was in Manchester City’s academy as a youngster.
Kuate only made a limited impact with Dundee United, but it seems that he made an impression on his teammates due to his personality.

“I don’t think Wato needs any more confidence but his goal will have done him a lot of good anyway,” Sean Dillon once told the Daily Record.
“His interviews are different, that’s for sure, but it’s a bit of craic.
“I heard he told our club TV that when he’s match fit he’s the best player in that position in the world. For him to say it, he must believe he can be.”
Kuate’s nomadic career to date may suggest that he isn’t actually the best player in the world.
But he could still make a solid addition to QPR, Forest or Wednesday’s sides, as the Championship trio all look to bolster their midfield options.
