Scouts from three English clubs were spotted watching Benfica’s win over Aves at the weekend.

Portuguese newspaper Record reports representatives from Manchester United, Everton and Sheffield Wednesday were in attendance at the Estadio da Luz.

Atletico Madrid scouts were also present, the report states.

Benfica won the match 2-0 with Joao Felix and Franco Cervi scoring the goals.

Former Manchester United trialist Bruno Gomes led the line up front for Aves.

United and Everton both have Portuguese managers, while Sheffield Wednesday have looked to Portugal extensively in recent seasons, a policy pushed by former boss Carlos Carvalhal.

Both United (7th) and Everton (12th) have had underwhelming starts to the season in the Premier League, while Sheffield Wednesday sit in 10th position in the Championship table.

Wednesday spent most of the summer under a transfer embargo, and could look to make up for lost time in January.
