Knasmüllner should be known to new Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay.

Sheffield Wednesday – along with South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley – are showing interest in signing Christoph Knasmüllner from Austrian side Admira Wacker, according to SPOX.
The attacking midfielder has scored 12 goals in 18 games to help the club from Mödling to fourth in the Bundesliga standings this season.
Knasmüllner’s contract expires in the summer, however, which makes a cut-price transfer possible this month.

Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay, who recently acquired Heracles Almelo midfielder Joey Pelupessy in similar circumstances, should be familiar with Knasmüllner, who was on the books of FC Ingolstadt 04 during the Dutchman’s time at rival German sides FC Augsburg and Hertha BSC.
When asked about the rumours surrounding his player, Admira manager, Amir Shapourzadeh, told SPOX: “There is a lot of speculation and as long as nothing is concrete we do not need to comment on it. We are in exchange with Knasi and his advisor.
“It is also nice to see that many of our players are in demand, I see this as recognition for our work, and expiring contracts are also going on at other clubs, as not only the case of [new Bayern Munich signing, Leon] Goretzka shows, you can not always generate a transfer fee.”
Knasmüllner spent part of his youth on Bayern Munich’s books, and was later signed by Inter Milan.
The Austrian could link up with former Rapid Wien striker Atdhe Nuhiu if he moves to Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Barnsley, who are managed by their old player, Paul Heckingbottom, in the Championship in 15 days time.
