Villa could be willing to offload Hogan before August 31 on loan.

Blades manager Chris Wilder is convinced that one-time Ireland international Hogan is the man to fire them towards the Championship’s top-six places this season, and is willing to splash out a huge amount on wages to get his man.
It is believed that Hogan would become United’s highest-paid player while on loan at the club, if Villa allow the striker to leave on loan before August 31’s deadline.
The report claims that former Brentford striker Hogan, who cost Villa an astronomical £12million back in January 2017 (BBC), is not central to Villa’s plans after Jonathan Kodjia returned from injury.

Hogan has scored just 10 goals in 54 games, costing the club around £1.2million per goal. He has a contract at Villa Park until the summer of 2021.
If Villa are to either find a buyer for Hogan or indeed give him another chance to shine, sending him out on loan to prove his worth is the best way to do that and Sheffield United seem keen enough to give Hogan that chance.
