Sheffield United signed Gary Madine on loan from Cardiff City.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Sheffield United will look to sign Cardiff City striker Gary Madine on a permanent deal this summer despite his struggles in the Premier League.
The combative forward helped the Bluebirds to promotion, but he struggled to nail down a regular spot in Neil Warnock’s starting XI and played just 32 minutes of Premier League football.
Madine’s struggles in the top-flight prompted a loan move away from the Welsh club in January and Blades boss Chris Wilder took advantage of the situation by adding him to his ranks at Bramall Lane.
Despite making just six starts for Sheffield United, scoring three goals, Madine is a popular figure with the players and management staff and played his part in the Yorkshire club’s promotion to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old is cited as the Blades’ lucky charm in the report, and Wilder will look at making his move permanent during the summer in a deal which the player appears to be keen on.

“This feels like home to me now. I’d be devastated if I had to move on from here at the end of the season. I’d love to stay for as long as the manager wants me and hopefully that’s beyond the summer,” Madine recently told the Sheffield Star.
Cardiff are on the verge of relegation from the top-flight as they sit four points from safety with two games to go. Despite Madine’s intentions, The Bluebirds may end up seeing him as a good asset to have in the Championship.
