According to the Daily Record, Rangers winger Kai Kennedy is being targeted by Sheffield United ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
It’s claimed that Rangers will let Kennedy leave Ibrox, after he decided against signing a new deal with the club over the summer.
Kennedy is out of contract in 2021, and Sheffield United are now looking to push through a late deal before the deadline.
Roma, Bayern Munich and Manchester City have been interested in Kennedy in the last 18 months, but it’s Sheffield United now leading the race.
The report adds that there is no chance that Kennedy will sign a new deal, and he will wait it out until he can leave next summer if his Blades move doesn’t go through.
Kennedy, 18, is one of Rangers’ top young talents, but he hasn’t found a pathway to first-team football, meaning he wants to move on.

Steven Gerrard praised him as ‘fabulous’ last year, which gave Rangers fans hope of him playing more first-team football – but that hasn’t happened.
Kennedy could now head to Bramall Lane, where he would join former Rangers wonderkid John Fleck – and ultimately hope to become a Premier League starter and Scotland international like Fleck.
