However, there is optimism that a transfer could be possible for the powerful forward this time around.
Gallagher has proven to be a clinical finisher when offered a chance at Championship level, and would offer Blades a powerful outlet in attack.
Blades forwards Leon Clark and Billy Sharp both got into double figures last term, but no other player in their team did, and Wilder would be hoping that the arrival of Gallagher could increase his side’s attacking threat.
