Leeds United reportedly wanted Ollie Watkins back in 2017.

Back in May 2017, The Sun reported of interest in Ollie Watkins from Leeds United.
The 23-year-old, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, was at Exeter City at the time, and he was a rising star in the lower leagues of English football.
It was Brentford, not Leeds, who eventually secured the services of the youngster in the summer of 2017, paying Exeter a transfer fee of just £1.8 million, as reported on Skysports.com.
The attacker has since established himself as one of the best young players in the Championship, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 2017-18 and finding the net 10 times and providing eight assists last season, according to WhoScored.
So far this campaign, Watkins has scored seven goals in 11 Championship matches for Brentford, according to WhoScored, and it has been reported by The Sun that he is on the radar of Sheffield United, who won promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season.
It has been reported that Leeds’s Yorkshire rivals United are long-term admirers of Watkins and will make a bid of £15 million in the January transfer window.
The player Leeds reportedly missed out for just £1.8m could now be moving to the Premier League for £15m.
