Chris Wilder confirms Sheffield United are stepping up chase to sign a new goalkeeper after an injury to Simon Moore.
Chris Wilder has admitted that Sheffield United will now step up their chase to sign a new goalkeeper following a potentially serious injury to Simon Moore.
Moore was stretchered off the pitch during a 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Rotherham United on Saturday (July 22) after suffering a potentially serious knee injury.

How long the 27-year-old will be out of action for is unknown at this stage, but the stopper was seen leaving the New York Stadium on crutches and was expected to have a scan at some point over the weekend to assess the extent of the damage.
“What happened to Simon is worrying,” Wilder told the Sheffield Star. “He’s telling us he can feel something at the back of his knee so we’ll just have to see.
“We were looking to bring someone in there anyway. Even moreso now.
“I thought Jake [Eastwood, who replaced Moore] did great, that will do him the power of good and he acquitted himself well and showed what a talent he is.
“But going into a Championship season, which is only a fortnight away now, we need something more and he understands that.”
At this stage it is not known exactly who the Blades are targeting between the sticks, but the Yorkshire outfit have been busy already in the transfer market as they prepare for life back in the English second tier.
So far the reigning League One champions have made five new signings in George Baldock, Ched Evans, Richard Stearman, Enda Stevens and Nathan Thomas.
Wilder has also confirmed that Oxford United have accepted a bid for midfielder John Lundstram and he is likely to join the club in the near future.
