Sheffield United are considering a third bid for Charlton’s Ricky Holmes as Karl Robinson admits ‘every player has a price’.
The future of Ricky Holmes looks no closer to being decided as both Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United continue their standoff.
The Blades are known admirers of Holmes and have already had two bids for the forward rejected by Charlton and the Sheffield Star reports they are now considering a third.

Yet the Addicks are hopeful of keeping their 2016/17 player of the year at the Valley, with the 30-year-old’s agent and the club in discussions over a new contract.
However, while manager Karl Robinson is keen to keep hold of Holmes, he has admitted – and perhaps given United hope in the process – that every player has their price.
“We’ve had two solid bids which we have rejected,” Robinson said.
“Every player at every level – top to bottom – has a price where it becomes a little bit silly.
“But we’re saying we don’t want to sell him.”
Holmes himself is believed to be tempted by the idea of reuniting with his former boss, Chris Wilder, at Bramall Lane and testing himself in the Championship next term.

Wilder was the attacker’s boss at Northampton Town for a year-and-a-half, winning the League Two title together before they both went their separate ways in the summer of 2016.
The Blades were keen to get their business done as early as possible this transfer window to give them as much time as possible to prepare for life back in second tier, but they are prepared to extend their deadline to push the Holmes deal over the line.
