Wes Foderingham has agreed terms with Sheffield United as the former Rangers ace edges ever closer to joining the high-flying Premier League outfit, according to the Daily Record.
It is fair to say that, after two years stuck on the sidelines at Ibrox, the experienced shot-stopper could have very big boots to fill at Bramall Lane – or should that be gloves?
Dean Henderson has been one of the most impressive goalkeepers in the English top flight this season; so much so that some have suggested he should replace the increasingly error-prone Jordan Pickford as Gareth Southgate’s number one.
Given that Henderson could return to parent club Manchester United later in the summer, Sheffield United are under pressure to find a replacement for a talismanic presence between the sticks.
According to the Record, Chris Wilder and co are willing to overlook the fact that Foderingham has spent the last few seasons collecting splinters rather than shots on the Rangers bench.

The one-time Fulham youngster has made just six Scottish Premiership appearances since veteran Allan McGregor made an emotional return to Glasgow in 2018.
It remains to be seen, however, if Foderingham will get the first-team football he craves in the Steel City.
Personal terms have been agreed but, as the Record points out, Sheffield United will look to sign another goalkeeper even if Foderingham signs on the dotted line.
