Injuries forced Manchester United to release Callum Gribbin but could he return to the Premier League with Chris Wilder’s Blades?

Sheffield United are running the rule over free agent Callum Gribbin after the youngster was released by Manchester United, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Blades have already signed one former Old Trafford starlet this summer in Ravel Morrison and it seems that Gribbin, a highly-rated winger whose chances of making the grade at United were scuppered by injury, could follow in his footsteps.
The 20-year-old was tipped for the very top during his time in Manchester with his wand of a left foot drawing admiring glances from those inside and outside of Carrington. Louis van Gaal handed Gribbin the chance to train alongside the first-team on a number of occasions and Liverpool once tried to steal him from under the noses of their North West neighbours too.
But a dazzling young forward who shone alongside Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong at youth level saw his Manchester United career come to a disappointing end in the summer after injuries took their toll.
Though Sheffield United obviously think he could be worth the risk.

According to the MEN, Chris Wilder’s side have taken Gribbin on trial and he even scored for the Under 23s in a 4-3 defeat to QPR on Monday.
“He will be quite well known to the United fans who might have seen a little bit of him. He is a fantastic technician with a really good eye for a pass,” Manchester United coach Kieran McKenna told the MEN recently.
“What has been pleasing is he’s starting to add to the physical side of his game and is becoming more powerful and dynamic. Also, his attitude to his defensive work and responsibilities is improving all the time. If he can marry those things up, with his talent on the ball, he can have a really bright future.”
Does that future lie at Sheffield United?
