Report: Sheffield United in talks with Everton over Kieran Dowell

Sheffield United reportedly want Everton midfielder Kieran Dowell.

According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 59, Sunday, June 2, 2019), Sheffield United are interested in signing Kieran Dowell from Everton in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that United, who will play in the Premier League next season after clinching promotion from the Championship, are in talks with Everton over the transfer of the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.

The Blades prefer a loan deal, but that will mean that their Premier League loan limit will be reached if they sign Dean Henderson from Manchester United as well, according to the report.

Loan spell

Goalkeeper Henderson, 22, spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at the Blades from United.

Dowell, 21, spent the second half of the season on loan at Chris Wilder’s side, having joined the Blades on loan from Everton in the January transfer window.

According to WhoScored, the attacking midfielder made eight starts and eight substitute appearances in the Championship for United, scoring two goals in the process.
