The departing Norwich City player could become Sheffield United’s fourth summer recruit.
Departing Norwich City defender Ryan Bennett
Sheffield United are in talks to sign released Norwich City defender Ryan Bennett, the Star reports.
The Blades have already made three new signings ahead of their return to the Championship next season, but a new centre-half is said to be a priority for manager Chris Wilder, having seen Ethan Ebanks-Landell return to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And Bennett – who cost Norwich over £3 million when they signed him from Peterborough United five-and-a-half-years ago – could be just the man.
The 27-year-old has just shy of 100 Championship appearances to his name, as well as 61 in the Premier League, and was capped three times by England’s Under-21s.

But after a disappointing campaign, which saw him released by Norwich along with six other high earners, Bennett could perhaps benefit from a fresh start at Bramall Lane.
Having said that, Sheffield United are not alone in their alleged interest in the player, with Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City and Premier League new boys Brighton & Hove Albion also linked in recent weeks.
Would the former Norwich City player be a good signing for Sheffield United?
