Sheffield United are making a new bid for the Nottingham Forest midfielder Matty Cash amid interest from West Ham United, according to a report in Friday’s Daily Mirror (page 54).
The newspaper claims that Sheffield United have already seen a £6 million approach turned down by Forest.
It adds that while West Ham could offer up to £10m for Cash, the Blades will actually lower their bid to £4 million and give the Reds their pick of up to two squad players.
Nottingham Forest have already been credited with an interest in the Sheffield United midfielder Luke Freeman, while others on the fringe of Chris Wilder’s squad include Callum Robinson, Billy Sharp, Simon Moore, Kean Bryan and Rhys Norrington-Davies – although the report fails to mention any specific players.
Whether such an approach from Sheffield United would be enough to tempt the Championship side remains to be seen. And even so, there is no guarantee that any Blades players offered to Forest would want to make moves to the City Ground.

As well as Sheffield United and West Ham, Leeds United, Aston Villa, Southampton and Fulham have all been credited with an interest in Cash.
The Nottingham Forest academy product starred as a right-wing-back last season, from which he scored or made eight goals in 42 Championship outings, but can also operate higher up the flank and in central midfield.
