Sheffield United have made an approach to sign Manchester City youngster Keyendrah Simmonds as West Brom and Queens Park Rangers join the race, according to the Sheffield Star.
At the age of 19, and with just one year left on his contract at the Etihad, Simmonds has a decision to make – one that could come to define his entire career.
Does he take the Phil Foden route and bide his time in the hope of one day forcing his way into Pep Guardiola’s first-team plans?
Or does he take a leaf out of Jadon Sancho’s book instead, with Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and City newbie Ferran Torres all ahead of him in the pecking order?
A matter of days after Fisayo Dele-Bashiru swapped Manchester for Sheffield Wednesday, another City starlet could be on his way to the Steel City.
The Star claims that Wednesday are keen to sign Dele-Bashiru’s former team-mate too, though the crisis-hit Championship club appear to have fallen behind bitter rivals United in the race for Simmonds’ signature.

Chris Wilder’s Blades have made an initial approach for Simmonds, an England youth international with five caps for the U18s.
Yet a move to West Brom or QPR cannot be ruled out at this stage, given that both clubs have blooded some of the most exciting young talent in the country over the last 12 months or so from Eberechi Eze to Grady Diangana, Bright Osayi-Samuel to Nathan Ferguson.
