Chris Wilder is said to be an admirer of the Aston Villa striker, who has already played for the Sheffield United manager’s local team.

Chris Wilder, the Sheffield United manager, would consider an offer to sign Aston Villa’s Scott Hogan on loan, according to the Sheffield Star.
The report claims Wilder is an admirer of Hogan, despite the striker having struggled since his ‘£15 million’ move to Aston Villa 18 months ago.
Hogan scored 21 goals in 36 games for Brentford to spark Villa’s interest, but has managed just 10 in 54 since then.

And, according to the Sheffield Star, the 26-year-old is expected to be declared surplus to requirements as Aston Villa strive to cut costs.
Sheffield United’s first choice strike partnership of Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp scored more than 30 goals between them last season, although reinforcements are required after the departures of James Wilson and Clayton Donaldson since the end of the campaign.

Salford-born Hogan already has links to the Sheffield area, having previously turned out for Stocksbridge Park Steels – Wilder’s local team.
