According to Sky Sports, Bournemouth have accepted an £18.5million bid from Sheffield United for goalkeeper Aarons Ramsdale.

It’s claimed that the Cherries are ‘reluctantly’ allowing Ramsdale to make the move to South Yorkshire following an improved bid.

Ramsdale actually started his professional career with the Blades, but left in January 2017 as he joined Bournemouth for just £1million.

He has since become Bournemouth’s first-choice stopper, making 37 appearances last season as the Cherries suffered relegation.

The 22-year-old will now be heading back to Bramall Lane for a huge £18.5million fee as Chris Wilder lands his new goalkeeper.

Dean Henderson has returned to Manchester United at the end of his loan spell, and the move for Ramsdale means he is now unlikely to return.

This also means that Tottenham have missed out; the Daily Mail reported last month that Spurs wanted Ramsdale to join them and offer competition for Hugo Lloris.

If Spurs still want to sign Ramsdale, then they need to come up with the cash very quickly – and that doesn’t look likely as Ramsdale looks set to re-join the Blades.
