Everton are planning to step up their interest in the Manchester United ace following the injury sustained by Yannick Bolasie.
A report in the Daily Mail has suggested that Everton intend to step up their pursuit of Manchester United winger Memphis Depay following the injury to Yannick Bolasie, but it is unlikely that the Dutchman will move on a permanent deal straight away.
The Toffees have been rocked by the news that their summer signing suffered cruciate ligament damage in the recent draw with the Red Devils at the weekend and will have to undergo surgery, meaning that he will miss the rest of the campaign, the Mail reports.

That has seemingly prompted Ronald Koeman to make bringing Depay to Goodison Park a priority next month, and the Mail suggests that the 22-year-old is interested in making the switch having failed to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s plans.
Depay has made just eight appearances for United this term, and has just one start to his name – the EFL Cup tie with Northampton back in September – so it is difficult to imagine that Mourinho will have too many problems letting him leave, even if it is to Premier League rival.

However, Depay may not find himself off United’s books entirely as the Mail suggests that any deal with Everton is likely to involve an initial loan deal.
A temporary move may suit the Toffees as if it turns out that Depay’s time on the sidelines this season has set his development back, then they will not be left regretting spending a considerable amount of money securing his signature.
