Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been rejected by Derek McInnes in recent times.

McInnes is very highly regarded at Aberdeen, and although it appeared he was set to move to Ibrox, he turned down the Gers’ advances last night.
Rangers released a statement confirming that Graeme Murty would now remain in charge until the end of the year, following McInnes’ rejection.

Rangers made McInnes their first choice target following Pedro Caixinha’s dismissal, but the Aberdeen boss was reportedly unimpressed by the way the situation has been handled.
Rangers have spent over six weeks looking for Caixinha’s replacement, with no success.
Rangers have actually coped fairly well with Murty in the dugout, with the Light Blues winning four of the six games he has taken charge of.

Murty will now be at the helm for another six games, including the Old-Firm derby, if he does remain in charge until the end of the year.
Murty is now the bookies’ favourite to land the Rangers job on a permanent basis.
