According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur striker Carlos Vinicius wasn’t injured for last night’s game against Liverpool.
Spurs lost 2-1 at Anfield on Wednesday night, with Roberto Firmino’s late header handing the Reds all three points.
Jose Mourinho’s men missed a number of chances in the second half and were ultimately made to pay for their profligacy with Firmino bagging the winner.
Some may have been surprised to see no recognised centre forward on the bench; Lucas Moura and Dele Alli were at least attacking players, but there was no Vinicius.
It’s now claimed that there was no injury for the Brazilian striker, and he was simply left out because Mourinho couldn’t find a place for him on the bench.
The report adds that Vinicius is likely to be given chances to shine for Tottenham over the coming month, with Mourinho keen to give Harry Kane some time to rest.
Spurs have eight Premier League games between now and the end of January, as well as EFL Cup and FA Cup games against Stoke City and Marine.
There will surely be plenty of chances for Vinicius to impress, and he will ultimately need to if he is to make his loan move permanent for £40million next summer.
