Well, Raul Sanllehi has left Arsenal.

The Gunners sacked their Head of Football this past weekend and it arguably comes at a difficult time.

Arsenal are actively trying to sign new players and with the Spaniard gone, there’s a risk of things slowing down with regards to recruitment.

But according to Goal.com, the club already have a replacement for the former Barcelona chief.

Goal.com claims that Director of Operations Huss Fahmy will step up to work alongside head coach Mikel Arteta and Edu.

The report adds that Fahmy – who joined Arsenal in 2017 – is an ‘expert’ with regards to contract negotiations.

But fans of the Emirates Stadium club might take that with a pinch of salt by virtue of the fact that Mesut Ozil is costing them an absolute fortune and not offering much by way of a return.

The former Germany international was handed a new £350,000-a-week contract early in 2018 and although Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis get much of the blame, it’s plausible that Fahmy had a role – if he indeed is the go-to-guy for contract negotiations in North London.

It’ll be interesting to see if the trident of Fahmy, Arteta and Edu is more successful than when Sanllehi was pulling the strings.
