Tottenham Hotspur will not sack Nuno Espirito Santo even if they lose to Manchester United on Saturday, the London Evening Standard report.

Will Nuno go?

The Tottenham boss has come under increasing pressure from supporters, who are becoming more and more frustrated with his style of play.

Spurs have struggled to show any attacking vision this season, with their shots on goal worryingly low.

Tottenham have scored just nine goals in nine Premier League games and while their results haven’t been disastrous, there is a feeling that Nuno isn’t unlocking their potential fully.

A defeat to Manchester United at the weekend would leave Spurs sitting in a mid-table spot.

But Tottenham’s board are said to be willing to remain patient with Nuno, as they feel they are at the beginning of a new cycle.

Patience required?

The Spurs hierarchy apparently feel that it could take years before they start functioning to the best of their ability again.

Despite Nuno’s apparent job security, the importance of winning at the weekend cannot be underestimated for him.

A defeat could threaten to turn the atmosphere at the stadium rather toxic, with frustrations mounting.

And Nuno needs to start showing that he can build a team who can play on the front-foot if he is to win over his rising number of doubters in the Spurs crowd.
