West Ham sacked Slaven Bilic on Monday – and appointed David Moyes on Tuesday.
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United have invited Slaven Bilic back to the club in the future – but he is unlikely to attend David Moyes’ first home game against Leicester City.
The Hammers were thumped 4-1 at home by Liverpool on Saturday evening, and that proved to be Bilic’s final game in charge, more than two years since he returned to East London.
The former West Ham defender led the club to a superb campaign during the 2015-16 season, but he couldn’t match that performance last season, and this term has been a struggle too.
Bilic was only relieved of his duties on Monday, but West Ham wasted no time in landing his replacement, handing David Moyes the reins until the end of the season on Tuesday.
Now, the Daily Mail report that West Ham have told Bilic that he is welcome to return to the London Stadium in the future, again showing that there are no hard feelings between club and departed manager.
However, it’s noted that Bilic is unlikely to accept that invitation for Moyes’ first home game in charge of West Ham, the clash with Leicester City on November 24th.
First, Moyes must navigate the away trip to Watford after the international break, in which all eyes will be on the Scot as he attempts to prove his doubters wrong and get West Ham back on track.
As for Bilic, it’s claimed that both BT Sport and Sky Sports want to hire him as a pundit, but he intends to focus on spending time with his family and taking time out of football after a stressful spell with the Hammers.
