Nottingham Forest forward Britt Assombalonga is the subject of heavy interest from Garry Monk’s Middlesbrough side.

According to the Northern Echo, Nottingham Forest are open to cashing in on Britt Assombalonga this summer.

Middlesbrough are said to have made Assombalonga their top target this transfer window, with Garry Monk keen to bring the clinical striker to the Riverside Stadium.

Boro are yet to make Forest an offer for Assombalonga, but there is a confidence that they will be able to land their man.

Forest value Assombalonga highly, but there are said to be wiling to sell the Congolese forward, if a sizeable offer is made.

Boro have the funds to snap up Assombalonga, after making a vast amount of money from their time in the Premier League last term.

And Monk is expected to test Forest’s resolve in the near future by making a bid.

Assombalonga scored 14 goals in the Championship last term, over 32 appearances for Forest.

If Assombalonga does move to Boro, he could partner Patrick Bamford up-front.
