Leeds United believe Gianni Alioski is loving life at Elland Road and the club hopes the Macedonian will agree a new deal soon, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The statement won’t come as much of a surprise to the West Yorkshire faithful.
After all, Alioski has been one of Marcelo Bielsa’s most trusted foot-soldiers during the past three years, starting 79 games under the former Argentina, Chile and Marseille boss.
And while he may not possess the cool head of Kalvin Phillips or the craft of Jack Harrison, the madcap Macedonian possesses two attributes Bielsa values highly – a relentless work ethic and an ability to play in a multitude of positions.
Alioski was a prolific goalscorer from a central attacking position during his time in Swiss football with Lugano but has adapted impressively to a previously unfamiliar left-back role under Bielsa.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, expect talks over a new deal to begin soon.
According to the YEP, Leeds are confident Alioski is keen to stay and are hoping fresh terms can be announced in the near future. It remains to be seen whether Alioski is due a raise on his £15,000-a-week wages (Spotrac).
The move comes amid claims, via Fotospor, suggesting the 28-year-old was on his way to Turkey at the end of the season.
