Everton sporting director Marcel Brands is in no hurry to select the Toffees’ new manager, the Daily Mail claim.
Everton are still in shock after losing Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid earlier this week.
The Goodison Park club had been planning for the future with the Italian in charge, but their plans have now been thrown into doubt.
That means Brands is now hard at work in finding a replacement for Ancelotti.
The Everton chief is said to have been inundated with requests, but it seems that David Moyes and Nuno are the club’s two targets.
That being said nothing is yet finalised and it could be some time before Everton make an appointment.
Brands is said to be keen to assess all options, rather than rush into making a swift announcement of Everton’s new manager, as he knows the importance of getting it right.
The right strategy?
That could be a smart move for the Toffees, although they will not want to wait an unnecessarily long time for a new boss to arrive.
The transfer window is due to open soon, while it is only a few weeks before pre-season will restart.
Everton will surely want their new manager to have had some time to assess his squad before the players return to training.
And it will be interesting to see who Brands ultimately decides is the man to take the Toffees forward now.
