Moyes has apparently become Everton’s top choice to take over from Carlo Ancelotti, after his excellent showing as West Ham boss.
Moyes led the Hammers into Europe, but still only is tied down on a short-term deal.
West Ham are keen to offer Moyes a new contract, but Everton’s interest in him now complicates matters.
Positive for West Ham
The good thing for West Ham is that they did not insert a release clause in the Scot’s contract.
That means that they can dictate the fee that Everton would have to pay to talk to Moyes.
Even if Everton did agree a compensation package for their old boss there is no guarantees he would take the job at Goodison Park.

Moyes has performed admirably at West Ham, and seems to be building a very attractive squad.
The 58-year-old clearly has a big affinity towards the Toffees, after leading them for over a decade, but whether a return would now appeal remains to be seen.
Moyes seems very happy at West Ham, and rumours of his potential return have not been unanimously popular at Everton, which may make the move look less attractive.
