According to The Athletic, Lucien Favre has agreed to replace Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace after agreeing a deal with the Eagles.
What’s the story?
Well, this is hugely exciting news for Crystal Palace.
The Athletic believe Favre has agreed a three-year deal with the south Londoners, and will arrive in SE25 subject to receiving a work permit.
Crystal Palace hope he will be in place to welcome the players back for pre-season training on July 5th.
Interestingly, Favre also embraced the idea of integrating young players into his first-team when talking to Steve Parish.
That should be music to the ears of David Omilabu and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who shone in their respective age groups during the 2020/21 season.
When will Lucien Favre be announced?

While The Athletic share plenty of details, they don’t actually reveal when Crystal Palace could officially announce the 63-year-old.
However, the BBC are claiming that the Eagles could announce Favre by the end of the week.
All the Swiss coach requires to manage in the Premier League is a work permit, something that should be a formality with his track record.

Favre has worked in Switzerland, Germany and France throughout his managerial career, and has overseen 796 games in all competitions.
What an exciting appointment from Parish and Dougie Freedman.
It was certainly worth the wait for Crystal Palace fans, to say the least.
