Celtic are hoping to have their new manager in place by the end of the week, The Scottish Sun suggest.
Celtic seem to have made Ange Postecoglou their top choice to take over at Parkhead, after failing to land Eddie Howe.
There had been some concerns emerge that Postecoglou may not have the requisite coaching badges to manage in Scotland.
However, Celtic are not said to believe that will be an issue and his appointment could be made official within a number of days.
Mixed reaction
The news of Postecoglou’s arrival has been greeted with a mixed reaction at Celtic.
The Australian is fairly highly rated, but this will comfortably be the biggest job of his career to date.
Some have suggested that Celtic’s appointment shows a lack of ambition.

But the Bhoys board will have to hope that they have unearthed an emerging gem of a manager, as they look to get back into title contention.
Postecoglou at least will have time before the new season starts to assess his squad, if the announcement is made official soon.
Celtic have taken a lengthy time to find Neil Lennon’s successor, but it seems that the wait is now almost over – which means the club can finally plan for the future.
