According to The Telegraph, Steven Gerrard has created a private Instagram account to help bring team spirit to Aston Villa.
What’s the story?
Well, The Telegraph believe Gerrard also did this at Rangers, and he’s now decided to replicate it at Aston Villa.
The Instagram account – which is called bodymoor1 after the club’s Bodymoor Heath training ground – has already been following by Danny Ings and others.
It will help give the Villans squad easy access to match analysis, training footage, and also motivational quotes as well as books.
Clips from Saturday’s 2-0 win over Brighton are believed to already be on the account, which Gerrard hopes will encourage interaction between players.
It comes after the 41-year-old also banned fizzy drinks, sauces, hot chocolate and some desserts from the canteen at Bodymoor Heath.

Clearly, Gerrard is making his mark.
Modern Steven Gerrard approach should help Aston Villa
Nowadays, almost every footballer has at least one social media account, with many set up on a number of sites such as Twitter, Instagram and FaceBook.
Presumably, their phones never leave their side, so this is a smart way for Gerrard to ensure they will always have the chance to improve themselves.

For example, if constructive footage was only available on a laptop, or at Bodymoor Heath, the Aston Villa players wouldn’t be able to access it while on the move.
It’s a very clever approach from Gerrard, and it will be interesting to see if it catches on throughout the Premier League – only time will tell.
