Report shares what Ralf Rangnick will tell Everton about becoming manager; what next for Moshiri?

Everton have been linked with a move for Ralf Rangnick.

According to The Times, RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick will tell Everton that he has no interest in becoming their new manager.

Everton sacked manager Ronald Koeman last month after a torrid start to the season, but the search for his replacement goes on and on.

David Unsworth remains in caretaker charge, and Everton have seen Sam Allardyce pull out of the race, whilst a bid for Watford manager Marco Silva has been snubbed.

Recent reports have suggested that Everton will instead target RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick, but those hopes appear to be dead too.

The Times report that Rangnick will tell Everton that he has no interest in the job, and he instead looks set to sign a new contract to stay on as Leipzig’s sporting director for the foreseeable future.

Rangnick, 59, has been tied to the Red Bull brand for some time now, but has managed in just one season since leaving Schalke in 2011, having taken charge of Leipzig for the 2015-16 before moving into the sporting director role.

A return to management always looked unlikely for the former Hoffenheim boss, but the latest snub leaves majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri scrambling for the next target.

Moshiri may be forced to look to other targets, such as Sean Dyche or even Guus Hiddink if this continued struggle goes on, as Everton reach a month without a permanent manager – and Rangnick seemingly isn’t interested at all.
