Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has just under a week remaining on his current deal.

Benitez has just over a week left on his current contract at Newcastle, and it is becoming increasingly likely that he will leave St. James’ Park.
The Spaniard wants more freedom over transfers, but Newcastle are not prepared to give him everything he wants.
Benitez has reportedly been told that Newcastle won’t entirely relax their policy on only targeting younger players, although exceptions could be made on a case by case basis.
The promise does not seem to have been enough to convince Benitez that staying at Newcastle would be worthwhile.
The Magpies are set to make one final push to sign Benitez, but it looks likely that he will leave.

Newcastle are yet to even start planning for Benitez’s departure, but they will begin searching for potential managers in the next 24 hours, if the popular manager still hasn’t committed his future.
If Benitez does depart then the news will go down terribly at Newcastle, and it could seriously damage their chances next term.
