It’s well known at this stage that there’s tentative links between Liverpool signing Kylian Mbappe.

Le Parisien reported earlier this year that the Paris Saint-Germain hitman is ‘convinced’ that he’d be a success story under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Incidentally, Klopp is a huge fan of the player and admitted ‘I love him, to be honest’ during an interview with RMC Sport back in 2018.

But if Liverpool do want him, they’ll have to spend big because according to a report, the French giants aren’t interested in a swap deal involving Mo Salah.

Salah’s long-term future on Merseyside has been called into question after he was spotted shaking his head in disapproval over Klopp substituting him a little earlier this month.

But The Independent have reported that PSG would never swap Mbappe for the Egypt international, who turns 29 in June.

The report adds that PSG would view the exchange as ‘trading down’ – and they’re probably right.

After all, the 22-year-old has just torn Barcelona to shreds in the Champions League and it’s genuinely scary to consider how good he’ll be in the coming years.

You could argue that he is already on par – if not better – than Salah and considering he’s six years younger, this is a frightening talent.
