Newcastle United are currently up for sale, and takeover talk is growing louder.

According to a report in the Chronicle, Newcastle United’s scouts have been told that it is business as usual at St. James’ Park, despite takeover talk gaining pace.
Newcastle appear to be heading into a period of uncertainty, with Mike Ashley looking to sell the club.
Things have moved quickly since Newcastle publicly announced they were up for sale, with Amanda Staveley now coming closer to taking the reins at St. James’ Park.

Rafael Benitez’s January plans are now up in the air, with Newcastle likely to have more money to spend if Staveley takes over.
But Newcastle’s scouts have been told to continue with their current tasks, as nothing has changed for them.
The Magpies want targets to continue to be assesses, as even if the takeover bid does not go through, Ashley is said to be prepared to hand Benitez some funds to spend.

Newcastle are known to want to add quality to their squad, despite their positive start back in the Premier League.
The Magpies are currently in ninth place in the top flight standings, but Benitez does not want his team to rest on their laurels.
