According to The Athletic, Ben Davies has been that he does in fact have a future at Liverpool beyond this season.
The Reds pounced on deadline day to sign Davies from Preston North End, paying a small seven-figure fee for him whilst sending Sepp van den Berg on loan to Deepdale.
Davies arrived alongside Ozan Kabak in the hope of bolstering Jurgen Klopp’s defensive options, but he has become the invisible man at Anfield.
Davies has yet to play a single minute of first-team football for Liverpool, and looks set to end the season without making his Reds debut.
Injuries have been an issue in that time, but some have wondered whether he will be sold on this summer in order to clear room in defence.
This latest report claims that Davies has though been told that he is still wanted at Liverpool, and may have a role to play next season.

Next season looks even tougher for Davies though. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip will all be back this summer, whilst RB Leipzig ace Ibrahima Konate looks set to join.
Kabak is heading back to Schalke, but with Liverpool also having Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams, it’s hard to see where Davies gets in.
The 25-year-old may start next season as Liverpool’s seventh choice centre back, and a debut may still be hard to come by even if Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp remain fans of him.
