According to The Sun, Daniel Levy is preparing an improved pay packet for Harry Kane in an attempt to keep him at Tottenham until 2027.

What’s the story?

Well, if Levy pulls this off, he deserves a huge pat on the back.

The Sun believe Levy is preparing to offer Kane an extra £100,000-a-week to try and keep him at the club until he’s 34.

It would see the England international’s earnings go from £230,000-a-week to £330,000-a-week.

Tottenham fear the 28-year-old will have another go at engineering an exit from the club either in January or next summer.

As a result, Levy is prepared to get his chequebook out.

Kane would effectively be signing over the rest of his career if he agreed to this, so it’s a massive decision.

The Sun add that Tottenham chiefs are aware that Kane may not stay, even with the offer of another £100,000-a-week on the table.

Tottenham can’t convince Harry Kane with money

Are Tottenham aware of who Kane was trying to join?

£330,000-a-week isn’t going to make him ignore his quest for silverware, especially as Manchester City could quite easily match that.

After all, the Citizens are paying Jack Grealish £369,231-a-week, so surely they can match any financial offer made by Levy.

In our view, the only way Tottenham can keep Kane at the club this summer is by winning a trophy this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo needs to give his talisman something to get invested in, and show him that silverware is possible in north London.

In truth, unless that happens, this could be Kane’s last season in a Tottenham shirt.
