Sunderland are yet to win a Premier League match under David Moyes’ stewardship.
According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, David Moyes has been assured that he is not under pressure at Sunderland.
The Black Cats have failed to win any of their first nine Premier League matches under Moyes’ stewardship and they are currently rooted to the bottom of the table.
However, Sunderland’s board have reportedly offered Moyes assurances that he won’t lose his job.
Ellis Short reportedly brought Moyes to Sunderland as part of a long-term strategy for the club, rather than a short term fix.
And, despite Sunderland fans starting to call for the Scot to be sacked, it seems that the former Manchester United boss will remain in charge at the Stadium of Light for the foreseeable future, even if his side’s poor form continues.
Sunderland are already five points adrift of safety in the Premier League, and they look set to be embroiled in a relegation battle once again this season.
Moyes’ side are next in action tomorrow evening, when they take on Southampton in the EFL Cup.
