According to a report from the Express and Star, Darren Moore plans to include Jack Fitzwater in his first-team squad for next season despite Walsall hoping to tempt the West Brom youngster back for another loan spell.

Fitzwater has handed the Baggies a boost ahead of their return to the Championship by signing a new two-year contract. The 20-year-old played in League Two with Forest Green Rovers last season, before stepping up a division with the Saddlers from January.

The youngster scored three times in 15 appearances, and the Express and Star reports that Walsall are again keen to sign him on a temporary basis for the coming campaign. However, Moore appears to have other plans.

According to the Express and Star, Moore feels that Fitzwater is ready to challenge for a starting spot in the West Brom side and thus, plans to keep him at The Hawthorns next season as the club look to try and secure promotion at the earliest attempt.

It is an extremely encouraging sign to see Fitzwater in line to receive a first-team bow next season. West Brom have lost Jonny Evans to Leicester City, but their relegation has left the side with the potential to dip into their ranks and utilise some of the many exciting prospects currently coming through.

Fitzwater’s future is reportedly not decided for certain, but his ability to adapt to the different divisions last season suggests that keeping him around and using him in the Championship could be a potential masterstroke from the West Brom boss.
