The pending takeover of Newcastle United might not go through until next week, according to a report from The Daily Mail.
A Saudi-led group are poised to spend £300 million on buying the North-East club.
There has been speculation about it for over a month as Newcastle fans gear up for an era without villainous owner Mike Ashley, who bought the Magpies back in 2007.
But the St James’s Park faithful might have to wait a little longer before celebrating, as a new report from The Daily Mail claims that there’s been a minor delay and that a deal may not be finalised until next week.
The report adds that the takeover has not yet been approved by the Premier League, after BeIN Sport objected to the buy-out because of the illegal streaming of English matches in Saudi.
Of course, the more there are delays, the more United fans are going to worry about the deal collapsing.
This isn’t the first time that Newcastle supporters have thought that they’d be seeing the end of Ashley, but considering the delay is only until next week, there still should be a happy ending.
