Newcastle United fans might have to wait a little longer to see the end of the Mike Ashley era at St James’s Park.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that there was a delay on the £300 million takeover but that a deal might be completed by this week.

But it looks like there’s been another twist in this saga – and that Ashley is getting ‘increasingly annoyed’.

According to The Mail, the English businessman is frustrated by a further delay in selling Newcastle to Prince Mohamed bin Salman, who is leading Saudi’s Public Investment Fund.

The Premier League have received a new piece of evidence in regards to the allegation of broadcast piracy.

BeIN Sports have recently objected to the Saudi-led group buying the Magpies but the latest documents weren’t sent by the global media group, according to The Chronicle.

The Mail adds that although Ashley and ‘those close to him’ are irked by the latest delay, they still expect a deal to go through.

Ashley bought Newcastle back in 2007 and fans of the North-East club will be delighted once this deal is done; not only because it’s the beginning of a new and exciting era, but because it’ll be the end of another one that has caused them no end of frustration over the past 13 years.
