Celtic are looking to get two more players in quickly after landing Jonny Hayes.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers celebrates after the match
According to the Daily Mail, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers wants to sign a new centre back and midfielder before the club’s Champions League qualification campaign starts in four weeks.
The Bhoys clinched a remarkable treble last month, as they won the Scottish Premiership, Scottish League Cup and Scottish Cup without losing a domestic game through the season.

However, with European success on the mind of manager Rodgers, the Northern Irishman will dip back into the transfer market this summer to boost his squad again.
The Daily Mail report that a £1.3million deal to sign Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes is now on the verge of completion, but Rodgers isn’t finished there, with two more signings wanted in quick succession.

It’s claimed that Rodgers wants to sign a new centre back and a new midfielder before the club’s Champions League qualification campaign starts in four weeks.
Rodgers does have Erik Sviatchenko, Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata available at centre back, but with Kolo Toure out of contract, another central defender makes sense for Rodgers and the Bhoys.

Meanwhile in midfield, Nir Bitton’s future is uncertain, meaning a player to compete with the likes of Scott Brown, Stuart Armstrong, Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic could also be key.
Rodgers wants those two signings done in time for Celtic’s Champions League qualifiers, which isn’t a huge surprise given that the Bhoys actually lost their first game of their 2016/17 Champions League campaign with a shock 1-0 defeat to Lincoln Red Imps – and Rodgers won’t want a repeat of that, hence his desire to get deals done quickly.
