West Bromwich Albion are keen to snap up Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.

According to a report in the Express and Star, West Bromwich Albion plan to try to convince Chris Smalling to move to the Hawthorns this summer.

Manchester United are expected to allow Smalling to leave in the coming weeks, and West Brom are very interested.

Smalling has a reluctance to leave United for any club outside the Champions League, according to the Daily Mail.

However, West Brom feel that they may be able to convince Smalling to sign a contract with them.

Tony Pulis wants to point to the success that Jake Livermore has had since joining them, to tempt Smalling into a move.

Livermore has broken into the England set-up after signing for the Baggies in January, and Pulis feels that should be proof that Smalling could advance his career at the Hawthorns.

West Brom’s transfer window so far has seen them bring in Jay Rodriguez from Southampton to strengthen their attacking options.
