Thiago would ask for more than £200,000-a-week to join Liverpool, ESPN report.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with the Bayern Munich midfielder throughout the summer, but have yet to get a deal done.
It is felt that Thiago will only join Liverpool if Georginio Wijnaldum happens to leave.
Wijnaldum wants to stay at Anfield, but does have interest from Barcelona, which means that his future remains insecure.
If Liverpool were to make a move for Thiago then his wages would be expensive for them to fund.

The Spaniard would become Liverpool’s highest earning player, with the National reporting that the Reds top earner, Mohamed Salah, is on £200,000-a-week.
Thiago would improve the quality of Liverpool’s midfield though, and he would be an extremely exciting capture for Jurgen Klopp’s side if he was to arrive.
