According to a report by Football London, there is no truth to the rumours that Daniel Levy is consistently contacting Mauricio Pochettino about a return to Tottenham.
Pochettino has long-been linked with a return to north London, but according to this report, Levy has only had limited contact with the Argentine.
However, that isn’t to say that Levy and the former Spurs boss aren’t on good terms.
Indeed, the report does state that the pair share the odd friendly message, and that does point towards the idea of Pochettino and Levy being on good terms.
Whether or not Levy wants Pochettino back remains to be seen, and we could perhaps find out sooner rather than later with rumours circulating about Antonio Conte replacing the Argentine at PSG.
Talks aren’t advanced, but with Levy remaining in contact with Pochettino, it probably wouldn’t take much for negotiations to begin and quickly accelerate.
Pochettino has, very quickly, found his career backed into a bit of a corner. The Manchester United job is now off the table, he looks set to be sacked at PSG, and every other elite European club seems to have their managerial situation under control.
However, if Conte leaves Spurs, there will be vacancy in north London once again, and while they say you should never go back, there may well be a conversation to be had between Levy and Pochettino.
The Spurs chairman may not be in constant contact with Pochettino, but don’t be surprised if he reaches out to him about a potential return in the coming months.
