Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is worried that Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham could move to mainland Europe, according to The Birmingham Mail.

It has been reported that Villa are interested in signing 20-year-old Abraham from Premier League club Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

However, according to the report, the Championship club’s manager Bruce’s biggest worry is that Abraham could be snapped up by clubs in mainland Europe, with Chelsea claimed to be considering interest from Italy and the Netherlands.

Competition

Abraham is a very talented and promising young striker, and one suspects that Villa will face competition from other clubs for the 20-year-old.

The youngster, who spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Swansea City, needs to play regular first-team football this campaign in order to progress and develop as a footballer.

While a season in the Championship with promotion-chasing Villa would be great, playing in Serie A would be more tempting, as it is a more competitive and better domestic league.
