Tottenham Hotspur took Kion Etete on trial, and he made a big impact for the club’s under-18s.

A report from the Daily Mail has provided an update on Tottenham’s current plans for Kion Etete after the striker scored twice for the club’s under-18s at the weekend.
Etete – who is currently on Notts County’s books and made his senior debut for the League Two side earlier in the season – caught the eye of the Spurs fans as he bagged a brace in a 5-3 win against West Ham.
The Mail reports that the 17-year-old was on trial with the Premier League heavyweights for one week. And while some may have expected Tottenham to plot an immediate bid for the youngster following his latest appearance, the Mail adds that Spurs simply plan to continue monitoring his development over the coming weeks as they weigh up making a move.
If Etete subsequently shows glimpses of what Spurs were treated to at the weekend, then it would be no surprise if Tottenham did not hesitate to make their move in the very near future.

Mauricio Pochettino knows how much of a masterstroke it can be to take a gamble on youngsters attached to clubs in the bottom-half of the Football League pyramid, with Dele Alli now one of the top players in the country having come through the ranks at MK Dons.
Alli had played a lot more first-team football than Etete currently has. But he clearly has a lot of potential, and showed during his trial that he can perform when the pressure is on.
