Report shares Simon Grayson’s transfer plan, as Sunderland seek more new additions

Sunderland have made one signing so far this summer, bringing in Brendan Galloway on loan.

According to a report in the Sunderland Echo, Simon Grayson is plotting to use the loan market more regularly, as he looks to bolster his squad at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland have already brought in Brendan Galloway, and Tyias Browning is set to follow his Everton teammate to Wearside.

Sunderland are now assessing the market to attempt more loan deals, with Grayson’s budget limited.

The Black Cats realise that they don’t have the spending power of some of their Championship rivals, but are keen to make alterations to their squad.

And Grayson feels that bringing in players on loan and utilising free agents could be a smart plan.

Sunderland are currently interested in snapping up West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass on a temporary spell, according to the Sunderland Echo, however any deal is still some way off.

Sunderland get their season underway with a match against Derby County at the beginning of August.
