Everton are looking to sign Steven N’Zonzi, a new forward and a left-sided defender next month.

According to the Daily Mail, Sam Allardyce has three priorities at Everton in the January transfer window.

Everton are expected to invest when the window reopens, with the Toffees looking to make improvements.

Allardyce has made no secret of his desire to increase the quality available to him at Goodison Park, and he has three key targets in mind.

The Mail suggest that Everton will be looking for a new number nine, with Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun the latest name to emerge on Allardyce’s wishlist.

Tosun is reportedly valued at £20 million, but Everton would still like to bring the Turkish international to Merseyside.

Allardyce also wants to bring in Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla, and is in competition with Arsenal for the midfielder’s signature.

The former England boss has also spotted a weakness on the left-hand side of Everton’s defence, and has now made that one of his priorities.

Leighton Baines has suffered a set-back on his comeback from injury, which has forced Cuco Martina to be utilised out of position at left-back.

Martina has actually performed fairly well, but Allardyce wants a more natural left-back to come in during the January transfer window, and he has made that signing a top priority next month.
